Manufacturing Output shows signs of stabilisation

Pharmaceutical manufacturing

Since August, UK manufacturing output has shown positive signs of recovery, rising by 1.2% month on month, according to the latest ONS figures and as reported by The Manufacturer.

Pharmaceuticals, transport equipment, computer and electronic products, and repair and installation activities, were among the industries contributing to the sector’s performance.

While these figures are encouraging, the overall picture points to modest growth rather than a strong recovery. Rising costs, subdued demand and a shortage of skilled workers continue to pose challenges for UK manufacturers. All of which highlights the need for sustained growth in the months ahead.
